Caring Committee

A phone call, a note, a ride, a meal…the Caring Committee extends a hand and offers support when our members need it most.

Our committee members call and visit congregants who are temporarily or permanently home-bound; provide rides to Temple events; and coordinate meals and assistance for members who need help with shopping. Throughout the year, we call our congregants who are over age 83 and honor those who have become centenarians. We also acknowledge our congregants’ life cycle events, writing personal notes of congratulations to new parents as well as notes of condolence after a recent death and on the first yahrzeit to those who have lost a loved one. Coordinating with other WHC committees, we offer programs to support both our members and the community at large.

Communicate with us. If you or a Temple member you know needs some extra support or is celebrating a special event, please tell us. All information will be held in strict confidence, but without your help we may never know that someone is in need. Become part of our volunteer network. We are always in need of volunteers to help with phone calls, rides, and note writing. You’ll be on the list of people notified when help is needed. Then, you can determine if you’re able to assist in that situation.
